Henry Jacques’ new Clic-Clac with Rafael Nadal serves a fresh take on Mediterranean luxury

With more than 50 years of celebrated craftsmanship, bespoke haute parfumerie Henry Jacques has always sought to bottle intimacy, and their recent collaboration with tennis legend Rafael Nadal and his wife Maria Francisca Perello is no different.

Their In All Intimacy collection – comprising three perfumes uniquely crafted for the couple, two for Nadal and the third for his wife, was initially a bespoke personal project, which used distinctive scents to elegantly differentiate between their public and private lives. Now, these fragrances are being shared with the world, marking the first time Nadal has ever collaborated with a perfume house.

The resulting scents capture the pair’s strong connection with the Mediterranean, especially with their home, Mallorca, with notes of orange blossom, citrus, bergamot, jasmine, lavender and thyme in each.

“Rafael loves perfume, and he decided to make a bespoke perfume for himself and for Maria, his wife. We had to work around his crazy schedule to meet and consult, but we actually created two scents for him, because of his lifestyle,” Henry Jacques’ CEO Anne-Lise Cremona explains. “He needed to be able to switch from his sports life to off the court, so we created a perfume for each to help him focus.

“Rafael and Maria are very guarded with their lives. They never speak about themselves, but at the same time, the whole world is trying to steal photos of them,” she adds. “We decided together that we could share their bespoke perfume and give the world a bit of their intimacy through a very novel creation of a perfume, because perfume is an instrument of introspection.”

Now, the special partnership goes a step further with the launch of the limited-edition Clic-Clac designed for Nadal. First created in 2021, the pocket-sized Clic-Clac is a solid perfume accessory, allowing users to interchange their favourite scents with ease, perfect for travellers, perfume connoisseurs and those on the go.

“The Clic-Clac illustrates our commitment on the one side to the traditions of perfume, with our ancestral formula in a solid natural base from the flowers, to the progressive innovation seen in the mechanism used inside the Clic-Clac on the other,” Cremona explains. “It is the perfect accessory for him, because he has many rituals and one of them is with perfume, how he puts it on after a shower, so this way he can always have it with him, no matter where he is in the world,” she adds.

Nadal’s edition naturally draws inspiration from the world of tennis. Made from Grade 5 Titanium, with a sweeping neon yellow abstract line reminiscent of the iconic tennis ball, the solid scent accessory is limited to just 120 pieces.

All three of the bespoke scents from the In All Intimacy collection, Rafael Nadal N° 1, Rafael Nadal N° 2 and Maria Perello, are also available Henry Jacques’ two other formats, the classic spray, also known as Les Brumes in the Jacques-sphere, and essences, called Les Classiques.

Each of the Henry Jacques Classique scents, their core collection of 50 perfumes, is available in the spray form or in the Clic-Clac. The Clic-Clac is available at Henry Jacques boutiques in Dubai Mall, Dubai; The Galleria Mall, Abu Dhabi, and Galeries Lafayette, Doha.
