Meet the female entrepreneurs who were awarded the Unlock Her Future Prize

Last year, The Bicester Collection’s Unlock Her Future Prize awarded four inspiring female entrepreneurs from the MENA region. Founded by the Do Good with The Bicester Collection initiative, the prize was created to empower female entrepreneurs with their startups.

The first edition, which took place in 2023, attracted a staggering 850 applications. From this pool, four remarkable women emerged victorious:

Championing Women’s Health: Noor Jaber, founder of Lebanon’s NAWAT Health, tackles the critical issue of accessible and confidential reproductive healthcare information, through a digital space in Arabic.

Combating Plastic Pollution: Sara Llalla, through EcoCentric (operating in Iraq and UAE), disrupts the cycle of plastic waste with an online marketplace promoting a circular economy.

Building a Sustainable Future: Fella Bouti’s EcoTashira offers eco-friendly construction solutions in Algeria that improve air quality and urban temperature in major cities.

Ethical Fashion Revolution: Nuhayr Zein’s Leukeather introduces a sustainable and ethical alternative to leather in the UAE, using plant pods as a low-carbon footprint material that empowers agricultural communities.

The Bicester Collection awarded each winner a comprehensive support package of:

  • Grants of up to US$100,000 to fuel their businesses.
  • Bespoke educational programs and residencies with regional partner New York University Abu Dhabi.
  • Expert mentorship and accelerator opportunities.
  • Impact guidance from partner Ashoka Arab World.

A year later, these women have blossomed into thriving entrepreneurs. The award has provided them with resources, allowing them to dedicate more time and energy to scaling their businesses and maximising their social impact.

Helping support women in business, The Unlock Her Future Prize continues to pave the way for a sustainable future driven by empowered females.
