The Ultimate Quarantine Routine: How I’m Trying To Keep Sane In The New Normal

Having a routine is something that makes my day-to-day tasks easy and has allowed me to manage my time effectively over the years, whether it was my university, travelling or working with brands. Since becoming a mom and having to stay at home due to the COVID-19 outbreak, I’ve realized it’s even more essential to have a routine that allows you to create tasks, accomplish them and  remain motivated.

Just as we create an exercise regimen to keep our bodies fit, we should do the same for our mental health by establishing a relaxed routine. We need to accept that this is the new normal and we can’t expect ourselves to follow the lifestyle we maintained prior to this.

Personally, I’m focusing on things that I can control for now. I’m taking it easily and it’s completely okay to do things at your own pace. I wake up in the morning with my baby and spend time with her, making the most of every little moment. Then, I clear up and organize my space, as that sets the tone for the rest of the day.

Then, comes my favorite part, which is having a nice cup of coffee followed by meditation, a workout and really healthy breakfast. Next, I  work on my laptop for a while and have been using this time to further build my passion for law. I’ve been reading books on US legislation and watching YouTube videos to prepare for my Masters degree that I’ll be pursuing soon.

Since I’ve been home, I’ve used this time to explore creativity and my love for food. I’ve been enjoying recreating my favorite dishes and sharing them on my social media channels. And another thing, which I think most of my followers know, is that I’m finally on TikTok. It offers a fun way to entertain people and bring a smile to their faces, especially during these trying times. Right now, we all need to support each other, do whatever makes us feel better, and help spread positive vibes.

I’d say the silver lining to this situation is that we all finally have time for ourselves. We should use it smartly and focus on self-care and prioritizing our physical and emotional wellbeing over all else. Stay positive and stay motivated, guys.

Love,
