Lucia’s Is A Multi-Sensory Sojourn To Capri, Minus The Airfare | Villa 88 Restaurant Review

A lively Italian restaurant that hits all of the high notes, according to editor, Nina Catt

Sitting in the shadow of the Burj Khalifa at Address Sky View, Italian hotspot, Lucia’s, entices guests inside with its lemon tree-adorned doorway serving as catnip for those with a penchant for a mesmerising Mediterranean theme.

Upon entry the chic design ethos flows within, in pretty shades of yellow and blue with decorative nods to the illustrious island, epitomising the flamboyant experience that awaits diners as they are seated at tables festooned with quintessential Italian tableware.

Elegantly refined, the restaurant presents a laid-back-yet-glamorous atmosphere without being pretentious. It’s the perfect spot for a lively date night or celebration with friends, thanks to the flawlessly hospitable staff who are no doubt prepped to ensure a memorable experience ensues.

Encapsulating the spirit of Italy, Head Chef Andrea Zurru draws inspiration from cherished traditional recipes combined with innovative techniques designed to captivate all of the senses.

Unveiling a new menu this month, Lucia’s invites guests on a culinary odyssey where classic flavours, lively rhythms, and joyous toe-tapping entertainment converge. Each dish showcases Head Chef Andrea’s imaginative approach to cuisine with signatures including the carpaccio di branzino – a celebration of seabass carpaccio combined with pickled tropea onion, blood orange, pine nuts, sundried tomatoes and capers, and the insalata di gamberi of poached red prawns, Sardinian fregola, vegetable caponata, toasted almonds and spicy mayonnaise.

Truffle fans are in for a treat with an array of new dishes, including bruschetta ai funghi e tartufo which delights with its toasted sourdough, mixed wild mushrooms and freshly shaved black truffle. And the arancini ai funghi e tartufo is a must, featuring an assortment of mushrooms, truffle paste, buffalo mozzarella and parmesan sauce.

The eclectic drinks menu celebrates natural ingredients and is designed to compliment many of Lucia’s signature dishes.

Our tips? Wear your dancing shoes and grab a tambourine to join in with the post-feast entertainment…and be sure to save room for dessert. When the tiramisu promises to play on your mind in the days that follow, it’s hard to decline a sweet finish.
