The highly-anticipated SMK Tennis Tournament 2023, presented by Emirates NBD in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Ports Group and Burjeel Holdings, is set to kick off. For over a decade, this event has been a beacon of support for Emirati sporting excellence, guided by Sheikha Shaikha bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan.
This year, the tournament marks its 13th edition and will be held under the patronage of HH Sheikha Mariam Bint Mohammed Bin Zayed. From 5 November to 19 November, 2023, tennis enthusiasts can look forward to 15 days of intense competition at the Palace of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan.
A total of 30 Emirati players will compete in 33 matches, each vying to leave their legacy on the court. Sheikha Shaikha bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, the founder of the SMK Tennis Academy, expressed her commitment to advancing tennis in the UAE, especially for female Emirati players.
Players such as Hadeel Al Qadi, Shaikha Al Zaabi, Mahra Al Mulla, Ayesha Al Fahim, and Maha Bin Hendi will showcase their skills, with Hadeel Al Qadi dominating both Singles and Doubles editions. This tournament has witnessed champions like Hania Kuleib, Yasmin Khasim Al Remeithi, and Maha Bin Hendi, making it a highly awaited event.
The tournament has seen consistent support from luxury brands and this year introduces a motion-themed edition, celebrating movement and transformation. Over 800-900 guests are expected to attend, enjoying fitness classes, beauty workshops, and world-class tennis action.
