In the latest show of its longstanding commitment to promoting rising talent, Van Cleef & Arpels’ announced today the winner of its Emerging Designer Award. Jordanian-British artist Julia Ibbini bagged the prize for her sculptural works that followed the competition’s central theme ‘Cyclical’.
The competition, which was announced in April this year, received entries from designers across the Middle East. Titled ‘Symbio Vessels’, Julia’s hand-made pieces were recognized for their creative versatility, and winning the title is accompanied by Dhs30,000 prize money, which will cover the costs on her exhibition that will be on view at Les Salons Van Cleef & Arpels Dubai Opera until December.
Based in Abu Dhabi, Julia has previously showcased her work at exhibitions across the region including Al Maryah Central, the UAE Ministry of Presidential Affairs – Presidential Palace in Abu Dhabi and St Regis Hotel in Jordan.
