Throughout nearly two centuries of watchmaking, Cartier has always found a place for small-scale watch design, with petite timepieces deeply woven into the house’s legacy. This year, its passion for miniaturisation reaches new heights with mini versions of some of its signature wristwatches. The 2024 Mini Watches collection features refined, readjusted proportions manifesting as shrunken renditions of the Tank Louis Cartier, the Tank Américaine, the Baignoire, and the Panthère de Cartier, and a special edition of the Tortue model from 1922. Each timepiece combines quartz movements with precious metals and gemstones, making them both practical accessories and keepsakes to add to a treasured jewellery collection.

Since its inception in 1917, the Tank has become one of the most iconic timepieces in horological history, thanks to its unmistakable design and celebrity following. This year, it evolves with the Mini Tank Louis Cartier and the Mini Tank Américaine, each scaled down to a refined fraction of its original size. The Mini Tank Louis Cartier, offered in yellow gold with a new 24mm dial, stands as a tribute to the classic model. The Mini Tank Américaine, reinterpreting the distinctive curved shape of its predecessor, is available in yellow and white gold options, featuring either a leather strap or a diamond-paved bracelet, with slim 28mm designs measuring just 6.5mm thick.

Another notable highlight of the collection is the feminine Mini Baignoire, a watch known for its elegant oval shape that seamlessly lends itself to a smaller size. It is now available in six new mini versions, ranging from a diamond-paved edition to a yellow gold iteration with a leather strap or all-gold bangle. The Mini Baignoire designs have a sleek 24.6mm dial measuring just 7.2mm thick. 

With its playful design reminiscent of a tortoiseshell, the Tortue, initially designed in 1912, returns with a reimagined mini form celebrating its timeless appeal. This special yellow gold and beige lacquer reissue edition draws inspiration from a 1922 model, featuring a 26.15mm opaline dial with Roman numerals, a bead-shaped minute track, and a sapphire-set winding crown.

Lastly, the Mini Panthère de Cartier, inspired by one of the brand’s most recognisable watches, is a scaled-down version. Reducing it to a fraction of its size with a replica of the original model, the metal bracelet watch, which perfectly cocoons the wrist, is available in yellow gold and rose gold versions with a dainty 25mm dial, and a medium-size edition in yellow gold and steel with a 29mm dial. 

Each of these bite-sized Cartier beauties is both instantly iconic and timeless, the perfect combination.
