Bringing you all the red-carpet gowns and show-stopping jewels from the weekend
It was another glamorous weekend on the French Riviera as the 79th Cannes Film Festival brought together actors, models, directors and fashion’s biggest maisons for a series of high-profile premieres and red-carpet moments. From couture gowns and sculptural tailoring to statement jewellery, this year’s festival continues to deliver some of the season’s most memorable fashion looks.

Among the standout appearances was Cate Blanchett, who attended the premiere of Garance wearing a striking Givenchy Fall Winter 2026 look designed by Sarah Burton. The dramatic halter-neck gown featured hanging floral thread embroidery, styled with matching Bonbon gloves and black-and-burgundy patent pumps, reflecting Burton’s sharply refined new vision for the House.

Cannes jury member Demi Moore also continued her run of headline-making fashion moments in a vivid hot pink look by Paris-based label Matières Fécales for the premiere of Paper Tiger. The sculptural gown featured exaggerated volume, raw hems, and a bold silhouette inspired by themes of wealth, power, and excess, making it one of the festival’s most talked-about looks.

Chinese actress and filmmaker Chloé Zhao embraced theatrical couture in Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring Summer 2026 by Daniel Roseberry. The sharply structured look featured a crystal-dusted Elsa jacket crafted in transparent crin with organza spike detailing inspired by a blowfish, paired with a sculptural skirt and black corset canvas heels.

French actress Léa Seydoux brought understated elegance to the red carpet in Louis Vuitton, wearing an off-the-shoulder black satin gown with soft plissé moulding. She completed the look with pieces from the Louis Vuitton High Jewellery collection, including the Pure V necklace, Infini diamond ring and earrings in white gold.

Meanwhile, Julianne Moore opted for classic glamour in Bottega Veneta, stepping onto the red carpet in an elegant off-the-shoulder black gown paired with a silver choker necklace featuring a topaz pendant and matching silver earrings.

Also spotted on the Cannes red carpet this weekend were Alicia Vikander in Louis Vuitton, Kristen Stewart in Chanel, Marion Cotillard in Chanel, Simone Ashley in Alexander McQueen, Adèle Exarchopoulos in Saint Laurent and Balqees in Roberto Cavalli paired with Messika jewellery.
