Happy 20th Anniversary, Net-A-Porter! Here’s A Look Back At The Luxuty E-tailer’s Journey

NET-A-PORTER is among the leading luxury e-tailers, housing over 800 fashion and 200 beauty brands since its conception in 2000. The multi-brand platform recently celebrated 20 years of offering fashion’s finest to smart tastemakers in the UAE and beyond. Here, we give you a quick look back at its incredible journey.

NET-A-PORTER began shipping its first international orders just a year after its launch, and now delivers to over 170 countries, offering same or next-day delivery to Hong Kong, Germany, France, Australia, Singapore, the US and UK.  It currently caters to over nine million customers worldwide.

In a statement, Alison Loehnis, President of NET-A-PORTER and MR PORTER, said, “For a company that has always been about shaping the future of fashion, turning 20 feels like a significant moment. The e-commerce platform also created Net Sustain in 2019 to highlight and celebrate the brands that meet its criteria for sustainability. This sustainable option provides buyers with over a 100 brands to shop from, with the addition of beauty products in fully compostable packaging made from bio-based materials.  Not to mention, all the boxes across the business are already plastic-free and fully recyclable.

“At NET-A-PORTER, we constantly review what we do and how we can do better. We’ll continue to celebrate the joy, wonder and creativity of fashion, but we also recognize that we have a responsibility to use our platform to push forward positive change,” added Alison.

Villa 88 is delighted to have launched its Spring 2019 cover together with NET-A-PORTER, featuring Sheikha Jawahir bint Butti Al Maktoum, one of the partners and the creative force behind Dubai’s newest communal creative space Kulture House in Jumeirah.
