A new musical following the live of Lady Diana Spencer will arrive on Broadway in March next year. Performances of the musical will begin at the Longacre Theater in Midtown Manhattan, NYC, on 2 March 2020.

Named Diana, the show ran earlier this year at La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego and chronicled the life and woes of the people’s princess, who was once an assistant kindergarten teacher. Behind the fairytale was a troubled marriage and a woman trying to find her voice. The musical pays homage to the woman behind the public mask and how she rose to became a global phenomenon despite constant media scrutiny.

Christopher Ashley and the writers behind Tony Award-winning musical Memphis, Joe DiPietro and David Bryan, have created this musical, which features an epic contemporary score. American actress Jeanna De Waal portrays the role of Diana in the musical and said it has been “daunting” but an “honor” to depict the character of a woman loved by many around  the world.
