Renowned carpet brand Iwan Maktabi recently announced its collaboration with designers from the region on a collection titled ‘Iwan Maktabi X’. Artists are invited to reimagine the brand’s carpets and add their unique creative touch to the products.

The partnership aims to give the traditional carpet look a modern approach. Some of the designers include jewelry designer Nadine Kanso, architect Roula Salamoun, and interior design duo David/Nicolas.

Artist-jewelry designer Nadine Kanso drew inspiration from Arabic calligraphy and pop culture. She explored the beauty and the mythological references to the ‘Evil Eye’. Titled ‘All Eyes’, the carpet features a respective eye design, which is meant to protect against evil and spite.
