Saudi Arabia’s Kingdom Photography Award has opened its doors for the second year, inviting photographers within the country to participate. Launched by the Visual Arts Commission, this annual competition aims to create a visual tapestry that encapsulates the beauty and cultural richness of the Kingdom, echoing this year’s theme, ‘We Tell Stories.’
According to a spokesperson from the arts organization, the Kingdom Photography Award serves as a vital platform for emerging photographers to showcase the diverse facets of Saudi Arabia. Entrants can submit a series of 3–10 photographs that narrate compelling stories about everyday life in the Kingdom.
Open to both Saudi nationals and residents, the competition encourages participants to capture the essence of “a day in the life,” cherished moments with loved ones, familiar locales, or the awe-inspiring landscapes that surround them. It underscores the notion that every aspect of the Kingdom holds the potential to become a masterpiece.
Beyond the artistic recognition, the Kingdom Photography Award offers participants an enticing prize – winners stand a chance to receive 20,000 SAR and gift vouchers worth an additional 20,000 SAR. The winner will also receive mentorship programs provided by esteemed professional photographers. Furthermore, selected entries will be showcased at an exhibition in Hayy Jameel, Jeddah, providing a valuable platform for emerging talents to share the spotlight with accomplished professionals.
