A documentary that promises an unfiltered look into Rihanna’s life is in the making and we can’t wait! The rights to the untitled project have been bought by Amazon. The streaming platform has reportedly paid a massive sum of 25 million dollars to bag the worldwide rights to the documentary directed by Peter Berg. With more that 1200 hours of footage, the documentary offers a glimpse into the singer’s evolution, personality, sense of humor, work ethic and family.
Peter Berg first worked with Riri on the set of the movie Battleship in 2012. Since then the director has spent years putting together the soon to be released documentary, which is said to be both moving and inspirational.
While a release date is yet to be announced, Berg, in conversation with The Hollywood Reporter back in 2017, said, “I’m finishing that now. We’ve got about a thousand hours of footage. That was a fun change of pace. After Lone Survivor and Deepwater and Patriots Day, where all these men run around with guns, to go travel with Rihanna around Europe, and Rihanna is surrounded by girls. We were in Nice [France]. She was going to do a concert on Bastille Day.”
Pop-star, style icon, entrepreneur and author, Rihanna’s extraordinary multi-faceted career is likely to be captured by the geniuses working on the project.
