French Designer Mathieu Lehanneur Unveils 2024 Paris Olympics Games Torch

French designer Mathieu Lehanneur’s torch design for the highly anticipated 2024 Paris Olympic Games was officially unveiled by the organizing committee, marking the beginning of the one-year countdown for the Summer Games. The torch, a remarkable fusion of artistic ingenuity and symbolic representation, embodies the core values of equality, peace, and the essence of Paris.

Crafted from steel and adorned with a champagne gold finish, the torch exudes elegance and sophistication. Measuring 70 centimeters in length and weighing approximately 1.5 kilograms, it showcases a perfect balance of form and function.

Lehanneur’s ingenious design incorporates three key elements that hold deep significance in the context of the Games. The torch’s symmetrical shape is a powerful symbol of equality, representing the spirit of fair play and inclusivity that the Olympics aim to uphold.

The smooth surface of the torch reflects the essence of peace, evoking a sense of harmony and unity among nations and athletes coming together on the global stage. It serves as a poignant reminder of the role the Games play in promoting peace and understanding worldwide.

The lower body of the torch features captivating wave-like ripples, inspired by the iconic River Seine in Paris. This intricate water motif symbolizes the pivotal role water plays in the heart of the city and within the context of the Games. It stands as a tribute to the River Seine, which flows gracefully through the enchanting French capital, binding its rich heritage and vibrant culture.

Lehanneur’s artistic vision, combined with the skilled craftsmanship of ArcelorMittal S.A., a Luxembourg-based multinational steel manufacturing corporation, has resulted in a torch that beautifully encapsulates the spirit and values of the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.
