For Fall 2026, menswear draws inspiration from some of jazz music’s most stylish figures.

Jazz has always understood the power of a silhouette. From Chet Baker’s pared-back elegance to Miles Davis’s precise suiting and Serge Gainsbourg’s dishevelled Parisian style, its leading figures dressed with the same individuality they brought to their music. This season, that style is moving through menswear.

At the Fall/Winter 2026 shows, the era’s understated cool appears in streamlined tailoring with a relaxed feel. Paul Smith takes a looser route through generously cut suits, relaxed trousers and an autumnal palette, while Brunello Cucinelli softens traditional formality with gently shaped jackets, tactile fabrics and neatly knotted ties.

At Junya Watanabe, jazz becomes a broader styling philosophy. Formal coats, tuxedo trousers and classic jackets are mixed with Ivy League, streetwear and workwear elements, creating unexpected combinations. Berluti brings fluidity through supple leather and elegant separates, while Rag & Bone offers a more urban take, balancing polished jackets with pieces that carry a lived-in ease.

The evening wardrobe also becomes richer. Saint Laurent’s elongated tailoring and pronounced lapels evoke the confidence of musicians stepping onto a dimly lit stage. At Dior Men, jacquards, velvet and decorative textiles add depth and movement, replacing conservative business dressing with something more expressive.

Footwear completes the shift. Thin-soled jazz shoes and pliable leather derbies offer a lighter alternative to heavy boots and traditional Oxfords. Harry Styles recently wore a Celine pair on tour, while Repetto’s Zizi remains the enduring reference, famously associated with Gainsbourg and Mick Jagger.
