Oman’s Crown Prince Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said to wed this week: Here’s everything we know so far

Congratulations are in order for His Majesty Sultan Haitham and his wife, Sayyida Al Jalila Ahad of Oman, as they prepare to celebrate the wedding of their eldest son, His Highness Sayyid Theyazin, Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, on Thursday, 24th April.

An invitation reveals that the ceremony will be a Kitab Al-Kitab (marriage contract signing) and is set to take place at Maraya Hall in Al Alam Palace, Muscat.

The invitation reads: “We are pleased to invite you to our son, Theyazin’s, wedding ceremony at 8 PM on Thursday, 24th April 2025, at Maraya Hall in Al Alam Palace.”

The news of the Crown Prince of Oman’s engagement broke on 31st December 2024, when his aunt, Sayyida Maani bint Abdullah Al-Busaidi, shared the happy news on her Instagram, without revealing the identity of the bride.

Who is the Crown Prince of Oman’s bride-to-be?

Although little information has been publicly shared about HH Sayyid Theyazin’s future wife, we have been able to uncover her identity.

Her name is Sayyida Alia bint Mohammed bin Hilal bin Hamad Al Busaidi. She hails from a prominent family of officials — her uncle, Sayyid Saud Al Busaidi, is the Governor of Muscat, and another uncle, Sayyid Ahmed Al Busaidi, serves as Oman’s Ambassador to the UAE.

Who is Sayyid Theyazin Bin Haitham Al Said?

His Highness Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said is the first Crown Prince in the history of the Sultanate of Oman. Born on the 21st August 1990 in Muscat, he is the eldest son of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq and Sayyida Ahad bint Abdullah.

Educated at the University of Oxford and later earning a master’s in history from Oxford Brookes, Sayyid Theyazin also trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He began his career in diplomacy, serving at the Omani Embassy in London. In August 2020, he was appointed Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth.
