Exclusive: HRH Prince Saud Al Saud talks to Villa 88 Man following his win at the Porsche Carrera Cup Round 1

Fuelled by a deep passion for cars and a fierce drive for racing, HRH Prince Saud Al Saud embarked on his journey into the world of motorsport at the age of 18, with dreams of one day competing in Formula 1. Despite entering the competitive racing scene later than many of his peers, he quickly set out to prove himself on the global stage, determined to showcase his talent and make his mark in the world of racing.

Inspired by the film Rush, which delves into the high-stakes world of Formula 1, the young Prince was determined not to let age be a barrier. He sought every opportunity to train, compete, and hone his skills, fully committed to his dream of success.

Fast forward to the present, and HRH Prince Saud Al Saud is riding high after his remarkable clean sweep of victories in every race of the Porsche Carrera Cup Round 1 at the Bahrain International Circuit. At just 25 years old, he reflects on his preparation for the season ahead. “It had been a while since I last competed, and many of my competitors had been racing in Europe for the past eight months, which initially put me at a disadvantage. However, I made the most of the practice sessions leading up to the race, and fortunately, it all came together,” he reveals.

Last year marked a milestone in his career, as HRH Prince Saud Al Saud secured victory in the prestigious Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East, a triumph that remains one of his proudest achievements. As he returns this season to defend his title, he reflects on his journey and what this victory means for the season ahead. “This victory is an immense morale boost for the season ahead. Last year, I had a challenging start and only gained momentum later on. Now, my focus is entirely on winning, and I’m accepting nothing less. My aim is to secure as many wins as possible, and these two victories in the opening round have instilled the confidence needed to foster a winning mindset,” His Highness shares.

HRH Prince Saud bin Mu’tasim, born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is the youngest son of His Royal Highness Prince Mu’tasim bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the 45th son of His Majesty King Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Alongside his racing career, His Royal Highness serves as a Business Analyst specialising in sports consultancy at a prestigious advisory firm and is involved in several personal ventures and projects. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from King Faisal University and a certificate in Entrepreneurship from Harvard Business School.

With his recent success, HRH Prince Saud Al Saud aims to inspire young motorsport enthusiasts across the region. He encourages them not to be daunted by the experience of their competitors, urging them to seize every opportunity with resilience, courage, and humility. “Don’t let your competitors’ experience become an excuse for them to outpace you. Keep pushing forward without fear and without ego,” he advises.
