Sweden is called the country of the midnight sun. Do you know why? It’s because once a year, you can see the sun for 24 hours and it calls for the biggest annual celebration. Everyone wears flowers on their heads and dances through the day. Sweden is one of the most magical and historical countries in the world.
As I grew up there and hold it very close to my heart, I decided to give birth to my daughter in Stockholm, the Swedish capital. The timing was the worst as it was in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. But we managed, as Sweden hadn’t imposed a lockdown and just had social distancing measures in place.
I took my time in Sweden to enjoy the beautiful nature around me, the fresh air, historical museums, amazing restaurants, and the spectacular archipelago.
Sweden is known for its natural beauty and I highly recommend it as a travel destination. The absolute best place to stay at is the Grand Hotel, which is located in the heart of Stockholm and is steeped in history.
You have to visit the countryside and the Ranas Castle, which has been turned into a hotel and offers a surreal experience. It doesn’t get more royal than this.
The shopping experience is also one-of-a-kind. Of course, luxury and Swedes go hand-in-hand. Overall, Sweden truly merits a spot in your travel bucket-list. Until then, I leave you to live vicariously through these images. Wishing you all a fantastic and a blissful week ahead.
