Tom Ford Departs From His Namesake Brand With A Swansong Collection

It’s the end of an era as Tom Ford announces that he’s stepping down from his namesake brand that he launched 13 years ago. The news came to the fore with a surprise Fall 2023 collection that pays tribute to his early works and favourite creations over the years.

Amongst the highlights is a remake of his Spring 2020 fuchsia breastplate and skirt ensemble, a Fall 2012 white caped gown that Gwyneth Paltrow wore to the Oscars, and a metallic colour-block body-con dress from the Spring 2016 collection.

In a campaign video that accompanies the archival collection, models pose in glass vitrines with Tom Ford in the background.

The final campaign features an all-star cast of models and celebrities, including Amber Valetta, Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss, Karen Elson and Caroline Trentini. It has been photographed by Steven Klein and styled by Carine Roitfeld. The collection will arrive in stores this fall.

News of Tom Ford’s exit had been circling since he sold his label to Estée Lauder for $2.8 billion in November last year.
