Discover Italian Jeweller Buccellati’s Latest Macri Creations

For more than 40 years, Italian jeweller Buccellati has been producing captivating designs for its celebrated Macri creations. Its latest iteration, the Macri Color collection, stays true to the Maison’s traditions whilst presenting an exciting evolution of the brand.

Macri was initially conceived by Gianmaria Buccellati, the second generation of the Buccellati family, who named the line after his daughter MariaCristina. It was inspired by her femininity and has continued to be a shining example of noble simplicity.

The original Macri Classica collection was followed by Macri AB and Macri Giglio, with the latter two created by Gianmaria’s son Andrea. Now, Gianmaria has once again taken the lead to design the elegant new Macri Color pieces, which are bedecked with brightly coloured stones that radiate mysterious charm.

Macri Color exemplifies the twin pillars of exquisite technique and aesthetics, for which Buccellati has been recognised since its inception in 1919. The range, comprising button and pendant earrings, rings and cuff bracelets, recalls the brand’s signature goldsmithing heritage, and demonstrates the fine engraving craftsmanship that has become synonymous with Italian artisans.

The ‘rigato’ engraving technique is based on parallel lines cut onto the gold surface with a burin to obtain a silky sheen, and the micro- sculptures supporting the bezels are further engraved with ‘ornato’ motifs. This approach means that the pieces have sinuosity, with the contrasting shades of gold lending them a chromatic effect.

Characterised by elegant proportions and vibrant stones, Macri Color is the culmination of more than a century of Buccellati’s savoir-faire. Gianmaria has successfully achieved the Maison’s vision with this collection of iridescent, enchanting jewels.
