Independent accessory brands you need on your radar this season

Accessories are no longer mere elements that refine an outfit. Today, they possess the ability to take centre stage and be the pièce de résistance of your look. A simple outfit can be instantly elevated with a statement-making accessory that can become a conversation starter at your next social event.

So, in 2025, what does it take for an accessory brand to cut through the clutter on Instagram? A story rooted in originality, products defined by meticulous artistry, fusing both creativity and technicality… Moving away from popular names, here’s an edit featuring accessory labels both within the GCC and globally – from sculptural silhouettes and heirloom-grade minimalism to planet-conscious designs that shine, we’re spotlighting the hidden gems.

APOA

APOA (A Piece of Art), launched in 2023, is the brainchild of Princesses Noura Abdulaziz Al Saud, Sara Naif Al Saud, and Mashael Khalid Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. From their very first collection, which paid homage to the Kingdom’s pearl-diving heritage, APOA aimed to represent culture and history with a modernised execution.

Crafted between Riyadh and Barcelona, the jewellery label has a local feel with global appeal. Having won the Jewellery Design Award at the 2024 Fashion Trust Arabia Awards and being recognised among the Saudi 100 Brands in the same year, APOA’s well-deserved ascension stems from its acknowledgement of regional richness.

Bymystique

Founder Iman Fawaz’s passion for sustainability and ethical practices defines the heart of her brand, Bymystique. Hand-crafted in Dubai with local craftsmanship, the jewellery label creates pieces from ethically sourced 18-carat recycled gold, further attesting to their mindful approach.

Deriving inspiration from celestial objects like the sun, stars, and the moon, its jewellery reflects a unique sense of amazement at the larger galaxy. Connecting emotionally with her own designs, Iman intends for the wearer to radiate positive healing energy. Designs range from high-end rings to pendants and earrings, all sustainably crafted with an attempt to reduce the brand’s overall carbon footprint.

Since nature is the primary inspiration for the design, its preservation should also be a central aspect of production, believes Iman. And so, Bymistique is all about paying the way forward while preserving the past.

Studio Amelia

Studio Amelia by Emily Amelia Inglis is an Australian brand recognised for reinventing classic silhouettes with playful twists. Her vision was to create the perfect sandal that is timeless yet eclectic, grounded in quality that exudes luxury. With a sharp focus on ethical production practices, Studio Amelia takes pride in its sustainability initiatives and usage of recycled components and low-impact materials.

In a short period of time, the label has managed to expand beyond footwear and into ready-to-wear clothing and bags, infusing the same formula of simplicity with a hint of spark.

Objets Daso

Founded in 2021 by Catherine Whang and Pratik Vyas, Objets Daso (‘objets’, French for ‘objects’, with ‘dasoni’, pure Korean for ‘a person I love’), is a label that believes in creating objects that are minimal yet timeless. Each bag, hand-crafted in Florence, Italy, is inspired by the world of art, culture, and history.

Craftsmanship and attention to detail are at the core of their creation. Both founders come from contrasting backgrounds, which has unintentionally become their USP. Vyas brings his credentials from a degree in neuroscience, and Wang’s experience comes from apprenticeships at brands like Céline and Bally. Together, they balance their vision with equal parts creativity and technicality.

Turabi

While creatives are often in pursuit of perfection, Emirati designer Noura Alserkal discovered that the true DNA of her brand, Turabi, lies in the beauty of imperfection. When she was studying abroad, Noura developed a deeper connection with her Arabic roots, which now serve as the anchor that helps her create jewellery for the modern Arab woman. Dismantling the idea of polished perfection, her designs are meant to forge a human connection that binds everyone together, celebrating their flaws. The art-inspired pieces may not be smooth around the edges, but each one holds space for the wearer to imbue it with their own story. Turabi is all about bending the rules and challenging societal norms of conventional beauty.
