Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum was recently named  Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and in her new role, she will continue to work towards positioning Dubai as a key part of the international cultural circuit. HH Sheikha Latifa has been a constant source of cultural events and to mark this great milestone, we have rounded up five of her key achievements in the city’s cultural sphere.

Her Highness…

• Was the Vice-Chairperson of Dubai Culture and has been affiliated with the authority since it was established in 2008,
• Is the Ambassador of the Dubai Center for Heritage Development, an initiative by Dubai Culture that has been working towards incorporating Emirati heritage into the educational curricula,
• Is an avid reader and writer and serves as the Vice Chairman of the Emirates Literature Foundation,
• Launched the National Program to Build Talent to support the development of new generations of pioneering women talent,
• Is a Patron of Sikka Art Fair.

In a release published on the official web page of Dubai  Culture, HH Sheikha Latifa was quoted as saying, “Dubai is defined by its positivity and multicultural outlook, and our awe-inspiring growth is underlined by an abounding respect for our heritage. Beyond our architectural marvels, our city derives its character from its rich cultural identity – and that is the heart and soul of Dubai.”

HH Sheikha Latifa also shared her vision for the city’s cultural landscape, “My goal is to elevate the cultural sphere of our city, which is home to over 200 nationalities. My role is to encourage Dubai’s talents, inspire their creativity, and support them to work together in our vibrant and culturally rich society.
