We sit down with the Emirati artist and media professional, whose work blends creativity, storytelling, and cultural expression.
What role do Arabic typography and calligraphy play in your creative process?
Arabic typography adds both beauty and meaning to artwork. I love how expressive the letters feel visually, and I enjoy using Arabic in ways that feel modern while still connected to our culture.

Can you tell us about one artwork or project that holds special meaning for you and why?
Projects involving children and community are especially meaningful to me. I love seeing people interact with art and create their own connection with it. That shared creative experience always feels special.
How do you balance creativity with the fast-paced demands of media production?
I’ve learned to balance structure with creativity. Media moves quickly, so staying organised helps, and art gives me space to slow down and recharge creatively.
How did your journey begin in media as well as visual art, and what inspired you to pursue both fields?
My journey really started with drawing. Art was always something natural to me from a young age. Later, working in media opened up another way of telling stories through visuals and content. For me, both art and media are connected through storytelling and creativity.
As an Emirati artist, how does the UAE’s culture and heritage influence your artwork and storytelling?
Being Emirati is a big part of my identity, so it naturally influences my work. I’m inspired by our culture, traditions, the Arabic language, and the way the UAE blends heritage with modern life. I enjoy reflecting that balance in my artwork.
How have your experiences in media influenced the way you express creativity through your artwork?
Media taught me how to communicate visually in a clear and engaging way. It also made me think more about storytelling and how people connect emotionally with visuals, and that definitely shaped my art.
What message or emotions do you hope audiences take away from your art collections?
I hope people feel connected and curious. I want the work to feel approachable and for each person to take away their own meaning from it.
How has the art scene in the UAE evolved, and what opportunities do you see for emerging Emirati artists today?
The art scene in the UAE has grown so much. There’s more support, more platforms, and more opportunities than ever. It’s a very exciting time for emerging Emirati artists.
What inspires you creatively when starting a new project, and how do you overcome creative blocks?
A lot of my inspiration comes from travel, culture, and everyday moments. If I feel blocked, I usually sketch freely or take a step back until inspiration comes naturally.
What advice would you give young people in the UAE who want to build a career in art or media?
Keep creating, stay curious, and trust your own voice. Don’t be afraid to share your work – your unique perspective is what makes it valuable.
