In collaboration with rapper Jason “IDK” Mills and nonprofit organization No Label, Dior will dress 25 students from diverse backgrounds who are enrolled in an “innovative educational course” under No Label Academy.
IDK had previously partnered with No Label and announced the revival of the organization’s academic arm, offering a two-week, tuition-free music business course for BIPOC students aged 18 to 25 in the United States. The course will be held at Northwest Labs at Harvard University, aiming to address the educational needs of students from different backgrounds, as highlighted by the 31-year-old rapper.
This year’s program aims to explore the connection between fashion and music, incorporating the concept of an artistic director in the process of creating an album to enhance communication between the artist and fans.
Dior, the renowned French fashion house, will play a crucial role by designing exclusive uniforms for the students. The uniforms consist of a sweatshirt, a Sea Island cotton T-shirt, and chino pants, adorned with signature Dior patches in Harvard’s colors of burgundy, navy, blue, and cream. Completing the range are Dior Explorer moccasins featuring either the CD diamond or Dior oblique motifs, with the intention of instilling excitement in education.
IDK shared his vision for the future of No Label Academy, expressing the desire to expand the program to other states, Ivy League schools, HBCUs, and D1 colleges, involving various educators in the process.
The second-annual mini-course of No Label Academy is set to begin on August 19, and IDK looks forward to further developing and expanding the program’s reach in the coming years.
