From now until December 19, Maison Chaumet in collaboration with Qatar Museums and Qatar Create is showcasing Chaumet & Nature: Nature-Inspired Jewellery Since 1780 at M7 in Msheireb Downtown Doha.
This unique exhibition offers visitors a multisensory journey through the world of Chaumet, in a bid to display the brand’s deep-rooted relationship with the natural world. Drawing on a heritage that spans over two centuries, the exhibit celebrates nature as the Maison’s muse, capturing its beauty through high jewellery.
Inspired by its storied legacy and contemporary designs, Chaumet’s exhibition explores botany through 107 pieces of jewellery and 111 pieces of art. The display includes intricate glass plates and botanical sketches, revealing how the Maison has artistically translated the essence of wild flora and fauna into jewellery since its founding in 1780 at Place Vendôme, Paris.
Chaumet’s collaboration with Qatar Museums is a legacy project from the Qatar–France 2020 Year of Culture, celebrating cross-cultural bonds. The exhibition merges Chaumet’s famed collections with Qatar Museums’ own, symbolizing a partnership stretching back to the 1970s. Notable collections like La Nature de Chaumet (2016), Les Ciels de Chaumet (2019), and Ondes et Merveilles de Chaumet (2022) are on display alongside newer creations from the House.
Chaumet’s partnership with M7 also highlights the Maison’s commitment to supporting local creativity. This journey began in 2023 with the Arabic rendition of the Maison’s logo made by Qatari designer Zainab AlShibani. Known for her expertise in graphic design and lettering, Zainab designed a logo that captured both Chaumet’s elegance and the innovation found within Qatari culture.
The exhibition also pays homage to Qatar’s rich poetic and artistic traditions. A must-see is Treasures of the Earth, a poem by Qatari poet Salman Bin Khalid, written especially for Chaumet. This poetic tribute highlights the role of language in connecting nature, beauty, and art — a dialogue enhanced by Khalid’s soulful verses.
Another highlight is Qatari artist Shouq Al-Mana’s Altawash, which was commissioned by Chaumet to illustrate Qatar’s historic pearl diving traditions. Altawash shines a light on the Maison’s admiration for the ocean and celebrates the legacy of Qatar’s maritime heritage.
From the vast skies to the depths of the sea, Chaumet & Nature encapsulates the Maison’s devotion to immortalising nature in jewellery. For lovers of high jewellery and natural artistry, the exhibition will be a highlight of the cultural year, redefining the way we appreciate nature’s beauty through the art of fine jewellery.
