Her Highness Princess Noura bint Faisal Al Saud is shining a spotlight on Saudi Arabia’s rich fashion heritage with the launch of her new book, Costumes of Saudi Arabia: A Heritage of Fashion. The book unveiled at Assouline boutique in Riyadh, showcases over 100 meticulously curated costumes from across the Kingdom, offering a visual tribute to the country’s diverse cultural and sartorial traditions.
In collaboration with Siân Tichař, Princess Noura sourced rare ensembles and accessories that reflect the craftsmanship, colours, and styles of Saudi Arabia’s five provinces — North, East, West, Central, and South. This never-before-published collection provides an in-depth exploration of the Kingdom’s historical and contemporary fashion landscape.
The Princess shared photos from the launch and took to Instagram to express her gratitude, writing:
“Thanks to all the people we worked with to make this book possible. We are grateful for the opportunity to help the world learn more about Saudi’s cultural heritage.”
Her Highness Princess Noura bint Faisal Al Saud is a member of the Business of Fashion 500 Global List and a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader. She joined the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture in June 2019 and served as the General Manager of Ecosystem Integration and Programme Delivery at the Fashion Commission until 2022, where she played a key role in developing the national fashion strategy.
Before entering the public sector, Princess Noura successfully initiated, managed, and secured funding for high-profile, internationally attended large-scale projects in Saudi Arabia under her consultancy, Culture House. Among her achievements was the organisation of the Kingdom’s first-ever Fashion Week in 2018.
A recognised authority in the industry, Princess Noura is frequently invited to speak publicly about the fashion sector’s growth and opportunities in Saudi Arabia, as well as the Kingdom’s rich fashion heritage.
