Emirati Designer Omar Al Gurg’s Ramadan Installation for Vacheron Constantin

Vacheron Constantin, renowned for its timepieces, has embarked on a collaboration with Emirati designer Omar Al Gurg to unveil a captivating art installation titled Among the Pillars in celebration of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Omar Al Gurg, renowned for his minimalist approach and ingenious designs, seamlessly integrates his vision with the expertise of the Swiss brand to create a masterpiece that transcends time. Standing tall at 4 metres, the installation commands attention with its seven pillars, each symbolising resilience, unity, and progress — values deeply ingrained in Middle Eastern society.

At the heart of the installation lies locally sourced materials, echoing Vacheron Constantin’s commitment to sustainability and responsible craftsmanship. Crafted from Plypalm, an eco-friendly material derived from palm tree fronds, the pillars pay homage to the region’s natural landscape.

Complementing the Plypalm pillars is a backdrop fashioned from DateForm, the world’s first date-seed based solid surface, reflecting the region’s rich agricultural heritage.

Emblazoned with the iconic Vacheron Constantin Maltese cross, the installation serves as a symbol of the Maison’s enduring bond with the Middle East.

The centrepiece installation, located in The Atrium of Dubai Mall, is replicated across exclusive boutiques in the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia throughout the Ramadan.

Visitors can also explore Vacheron’s Ramadan capsule collection featuring six luxurious watches, available in classic hues such as silver and black or more festive tones like golden and green. Each watch with exquisite diamonds, to symbolise the radiance of the moon.
