Awaiting visitors at Expo 2020 Dubai is a unique culinary experience that’s inspired by space, microbiology, artificial intelligence and hyperintelligence. ‘The Future of Food: Epochal Banquet’ is a never-seen-before multisensorial experience, envisioned by UK-based design studio Bompas & Parr in collaboration with Expo 2020 Dubai, reshaping the future of the dining landscape.
Guests will have the opportunity to taste gastronomic delights that will be formed using the same technique that NASA uses to collect comet dust – edible creations that glow in the dark, flavor-changing desserts, and rare ingredients like plants that have never been on a plate before.
The immersive experience is inspired by the ‘Novacene’, a new-era hypothesized by famed 102-year-old scientist and inventor James Lovelock. He postulates that this new age will take over the ‘Anthropocene’ era, in which humans have been able to make large-scale changes to the planetary environment and introduce a future reigned over by robots and artificial intelligence.
The curated experience will feature a multi-course menu, exploring themes involving the future of food, and how humans and artificial intelligence can collectively feed a growing global population and address food wastage and questions of future nutrition.
