Pierchic has reopened at Jumeirah Al Qasr with a fresh look and a new Italian seafood menu. The Dubai restaurant, set at the end of a private pier above the Arabian Gulf, returned on 26 October with a concept called “A Salotto by the Sea”.

Inspired by the traditional Italian salotto, a living room where friends and family gather, the updated restaurant puts shared meals and relaxed conversation at the centre of the experience. Its renovated interiors take their cues from 1970s Milanese design, with warm wood panelling, Mediterranean touches and carved details inspired by the sea.

At the heart of the experience is Sicilian-born head chef Emanuele De Leo, who brings more than a decade of international experience. He previously worked alongside Joël Robuchon and Alain Ducasse in Paris before joining Jumeirah at L’Olivo at Al Mahara in Jumeirah Burj Al Arab.

His new menu draws on coastal cooking from across Italy, combining raw seafood, tartare, shellfish and Mediterranean fish with handmade pasta, seasonal vegetables and selected meats. Sharing is a key part of the offering, with 14 antipasti-style dishes designed for the table.

The meal begins with La Norma, a welcome dish inspired by the Sicilian classic and its connection to Vincenzo Bellini’s opera. Other dishes include Branzino Bloody Mary and Red Prawns Ceviche.

A separate selection, Le Specialità, features Tonno Tonnato, a seafood take on a Piedmontese classic, alongside Tagliolino al Limone and Sogliola alla Mugnaia. The kitchen also combines Italian imports with seasonal ingredients from UAE growers. These include edible flowers from Mary Anne’s farm in Dubai, served alongside forgotten Italian legumes in the Orto Italiano dish.

Music and drinks add to the evening atmosphere, while views of the Arabian Gulf and Jumeirah Burj Al Arab remain part of the setting.
