Mandarin Oriental, Muscat, has launched a limited-edition culinary collaboration with Omani luxury fragrance house Amouage and Michelin-starred Chef Peter Gast. From 9 to 28 October 2026, guests can discover Exceptional Jellies by Amouage at Sawa Lounge, where two of the brand’s distinctive Extraits are reimagined as an edible experience.

Available for just 20 days, the offering translates the character of Amouage’s Overture 41 and Decision 42 into flavour, texture, aroma and colour. Chef Peter Gast worked on site at Mandarin Oriental, Muscat, drawing on the key ingredients of each fragrance to create jellies that offer a new way to encounter the scents.
“The most exciting part is translating the identity of a fragrance into something you can actually taste, finding the right balance between flavour, texture, aroma and presentation,” says Chef Peter Gast. “Creating the jellies on site gives us the opportunity to work with great precision and to make every detail part of the experience.”

Overture 41 inspired a warm, woody and spicy creation built around saffron and frankincense, with cinnamon, geranium and rose adding depth and freshness. Decision 42 takes a woody, aromatic direction, combining frankincense with bergamot, cardamom, juniper and pink pepper for a bold and dazzling profile.
The jellies are presented in a specially designed box alongside a miniature of Decision, bringing the fragrance and culinary experience together. Each serving includes three jellies and is priced at OMR 18, with dine-in and takeaway options available. Availability is limited to 35 servings per day.

Chef Peter Gast brings considerable experience to the collaboration. He held a Michelin star for 13 years at Schulten Hues in Zutphen and later at Graphite in Amsterdam. His previous work with Amouage includes Omani Rock Rose chocolates and a Damask Rose-inspired dessert, while last year’s Cloud Cake marked an earlier chapter in the partnership between Mandarin Oriental, Muscat and the fragrance house.
To accompany the jellies, dine-in guests can choose between two curated teas. Refresh Tea is an iced blend of satsuma, apple, pineapple, citrus peel, rosehip, lemongrass, safflower petals and saffron. The warm signature Jabal Akhdar Tea combines jasmine and green tea with apple, peppermint, honeybush, pomegranate and rose.
