Claridge’s X The newt in somerset:
This May, Claridge’s partners with The Newt in Somerset for a two-week collaboration that brings rural Somerset into the heart of Mayfair. Running from 18–31 May 2026, the takeover celebrates the union of town and country through immersive installations, seasonal dining, curated stays, and a series of curated hospitality experiences.

At the centre of the collaboration is “A Farm in Mayfair”, a six-metre sculptural willow installation crafted by British artisans and curated by The Newt’s team. Installed in Claridge’s iconic Art Deco lobby, it features a layered composition of farm animals rising upwards, symbolising cycles of nature and renewal, culminating in a single egg at its peak.

The experience extends throughout the hotel, with apple-filled displays inviting guests to take fresh fruit, and floral-inspired design elements flowing into entrances and public spaces. Menus across The Foyer and Reading Room highlight produce from The Newt estate, including heritage vegetables, buffalo mozzarella, and British-reared meats, alongside seasonal fruits such as rhubarb, strawberries, and apples.

More than a seasonal partnership, the collaboration reflects a shared philosophy between both brands combining craftsmanship, hospitality, and a strong sense of place, bringing Somerset’s pastoral identity into one of London’s most iconic luxury hotels.

From Manhattan to Mayfair
Claridge’s announces Dante Mayfair as permanent restaurant at the hotel officially opening this Summer 2026.
Due to popular demand and critical acclaim, New York institution Dante – which has been in residence at Claridge’s since last year – will open a permanent restaurant and bar at the hotel this Summer. Claridge’s Restaurant closed for final service on Sunday 10th May 2026 until the middle of June when the doors will reopen, reimagined as Dante Mayfair, fully operated by legendary New York restaurateurs Linden Pride and Nathalie Hudson.

Dante co-founder Linden Pride said, “We are so proud to call Claridge’s, and London, our new home. At Dante Mayfair, we will amp up the volume on our New York roots across design, menu, and music, aiming to bring an impish sense of fun to Davies Street. That sense of a neighbourhood that Dante’s created for decades in New York? Mayfair’s about to feel it!”
