From historic Sicilian palazzos to glamorous hotels along the Italian coast, discover the destinations behind the couple’s spectacular summer escape. Following their wedding celebrations in Italy, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have firmly established themselves as one of the world’s most well-travelled couples. Their exquisite taste in destinations, hotels and restaurants transformed their Italian honeymoon into one of the most talked-about trips of the summer.

Beginning in Sicily, the newlyweds travelled through Calabria, Basilicata and the Amalfi Coast before continuing to Rome, the Lazio coast and Tuscany. The route brought together grand historic properties, secluded seaside retreats and charming local restaurants, before the couple returned to New York for work and the FIFA World Cup final.

Palermo

Dua and Callum’s Italian celebrations began in Palermo, where they hosted a lavish wedding weekend following an intimate civil ceremony in London. The main event took place at Villa Valguarnera, an extraordinary 18th-century Baroque residence in nearby Bagheria, while the couple and several of their guests reportedly stayed at Villa Igiea.

Overlooking the Gulf of Palermo, the Rocco Forte hotel occupies a former private villa commissioned by the influential Florio family. Its Belle Époque interiors, sea-facing terraces, manicured gardens and palm-lined swimming pool capture the grandeur of another age.

While in the area, make time for Palermo’s markets, historic architecture and neighbourhood restaurants before travelling west to Scopello. The small coastal village is known for its dramatic rock formations, clear waters and historic tuna fishery.

Taormina

From Palermo, continue east to Taormina and check into San Domenico Palace, A Four Seasons Hotel. Housed within a restored 14th-century Dominican convent, the property sits above the Ionian Sea with views stretching towards Mount Etna.

The hotel became globally recognised as a filming location for the second season of The White Lotus, but its original cloisters, Italian gardens and magnificent position have made it a Sicilian landmark for generations.

Dua and Callum were photographed exploring Taormina during their stay, embracing the town’s particular combination of cinematic beauty and relaxed Mediterranean charm. Wander through its historic centre, visit the ancient Greek theatre and finish the day with dinner overlooking the coast.

Tropea

After leaving Sicily, the couple travelled to Tropea in Calabria, a beautiful clifftop town overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Here, they reportedly stayed at Villa Paola, a secluded boutique hotel occupying a former 16th-century monastery.

Vaulted ceilings and peaceful cloisters preserve the property’s history, while minimalist interiors, terraced gardens and an infinity pool bring a more contemporary sense of luxury. Its elevated position offers sweeping views across the sea towards the Aeolian Islands.

The couple were also seen dining at Il Convivio, a refined restaurant serving seasonal Calabrian dishes. It is the sort of intimate stop that gives the itinerary its appeal, balancing celebrated hotels with quieter destinations away from Italy’s busiest summer resorts.

Bernalda and Matera

One of the most distinctive stays on the trip was Palazzo Margherita in Bernalda. Owned by filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, the romantic 19th-century palazzo has been transformed into an intimate nine-suite hotel filled with frescoes, antique furniture and hand-painted ceilings.

Dua shared glimpses of the property during her stay, including a private screening of Vittorio De Sica’s Bicycle Thieves. The hotel’s lush courtyard, cinematic details and residential atmosphere make it feel more like an exquisite private home than a conventional resort.

Nearby Matera is equally compelling. Famous for its ancient cave dwellings and dramatic stone landscape, the UNESCO World Heritage city offers a striking contrast to the coastal destinations elsewhere on the route.

Amalfi Coast

No Italian summer would be complete without the Amalfi Coast. Dua and Callum were photographed at the exclusive Villa TreVille Beach Club in Positano, a private seaside setting reached from the celebrated clifftop estate.

Once the home of opera and film director Franco Zeffirelli, Villa TreVille comprises a series of villas surrounded by gardens, terraces, and uninterrupted Mediterranean views. Its privacy makes it particularly appealing to high-profile travellers seeking Positano’s beauty without the crowds.

Rome and the Lazio Coast

In Rome, the couple reportedly checked into Hotel Locarno, an Art Nouveau sanctuary close to Piazza del Popolo. Known for its preserved 1920s interiors, antique furnishings and leafy courtyard, the hotel has long attracted artists, writers and filmmakers. Their Roman itinerary mixed classic sightseeing with relaxed local dining. They visited the Trevi Fountain in the evening and ate at Trattoria da Danilo, a family-run restaurant celebrated for its traditional Roman cooking and generous truffle pasta.

From the capital, head to Ladispoli on the Lazio coast and stay at La Posta Vecchia. The Renaissance seaside villa once belonged to oil magnate and art collector J. Paul Getty and stands above ancient Roman ruins. With only 21 rooms, frescoed ceilings, museum quality antiquities and an indoor pool, it is one of Italy’s most characterful coastal hotels. Dua reportedly stayed in the Medici Suite, distinguished by its beautiful pink marble bath.

Porto Ercole

The couple’s journey reportedly then continued north to Porto Ercole, a small Tuscan port on the Monte Argentario peninsula. Here they checked into Hotel Il Pellicano, the legendary seaside retreat founded during the 1960s by American socialite Patricia Graham and her husband, British aviator Michael Graham.

Built into the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean, the hotel has hosted generations of actors, photographers, designers and international socialites. Its striped beach club, terraced gardens and effortless glamour have also been immortalised in photographs by Slim Aarons.

New York

After their extended Italian escape, Dua and Callum travelled to New York, where they returned to work while still finding time to enjoy the city. The couple attended the FIFA World Cup final at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium before heading to the West Village. Dua shared a photograph of pizza from L’Industrie, one of the neighbourhood’s most popular addresses. It was a suitably low-key conclusion to an extraordinarily glamorous summer!
