Burberry has revealed the faces of its Festive Campaign for 2019, and among its highlights is Ikram Abdi Omar, the very first hijabi model to be featured in the British heritage brand’s annual campaign. Ahead of the grand unveil, Ikram took to Instagram and wrote, “Do you know what’s crazy, last year I met Naomi’s (Campbell) mum, Valerie Morris Campbell, and congratulated her for being featured in the 2018 Burberry festive campaign with her daughter.” She added, “I can’t believe that I’m part of this year’s Burberry festive campaign omggg [sic].”

Born to Somali parents, Ikram has made her way up the fashion ladder, having debuted just a year ago in Molly Goddard’s Fall show. She has been unstoppable since, and has made appearances in the Zandra Rhodes Archive, Juicy Couture x V Files, and e-commerce platform The Modist.
