Al Hosn Festival returned to Abu Dhabi on 25 November for a 10-day cultural program that celebrates the UAE’s rich heritage and craftsmanship. One of the most coveted annual cultural events in the country, the festival is taking place at the historic Al Hosn site until 4 December, offering a stellar line-up of film screenings, performances, art installations, crafts and design, and culinary experiences.

Organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the Al Hosn Festival aims at furthering the institution’s commitment to preserving Emirati cultural heritage and creating avenues for residents and visitors to engage with its many offerings. The festival opened with a parade of 50 classic cars to mark the UAE’s year of the fiftieth. Guests can relish ‘A Day in the Palace’ exhibition, which charts what everyday life was like at Qasr Al Hosn during the mid-20th century, experimental oriental music, craft workshops and activities for kids in the family courtyard. Also running are open-air film screenings and the second edition of Gahwa Championships, which pay tribute to Arabic coffee. Expect 10 days filled with programs that will satiate cultural enthusiasts.
