Umm Kulthum’s Hologram Is Set To Perform At Dubai Opera. Here’s What You Need To Know

Who isn’t a fan of Umm Kulthum? In a posthumous tribute to the undisputed icon of Arab music, Dubai Opera will soon showcase a series of musical performances by Umm Kulthum’s hologram. Yes, you read that right. The first show in the event is scheduled for 6 August at 09:00 pm, while two other performances are scheduled for the following day at 6:30pm and 10:30pm. The finale of the event is set for 09:00pm on 8 August.

The event will see a digitized version of the acclaimed Egyptian singer, performing some of her unforgettable hits that went on to shape the history of classical Arabic music. “We made great efforts to prepare and develop the content of this concert, said Hasan Hina, Founder & CEO of New Dimension Productions, which is behind the event.

“Especially since the preparation of the Umm Kulthum material required long hours, during which a team of 18 experts worked to develop the hologram and visual effects, in collaboration with a team of 30 technicians who set up the hologram equipment on-site.”

This event will be the second installment of what was a highly successful and largely celebrated debut event in 2019. “In recognition of her unique position in the culture and heritage of the MENA region, we’re pleased to collaborate with Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment and the MBC Group to give the diva’s fans a truly exceptional experience and the opportunity to attend one of her concerts and relive the feeling,” he added.
