Prada’s Spring-Summer 2023 Bag Is A Shining Tribute To Its Rich Past, Present And Future

Two decades after becoming one of the most iconic bags of the noughties, the Prada Moon has returned with a look that both revisits and reimagines the original.

The Moon first emerged in Prada’s Spring-Summer 2002 collection. The latest iteration boasts the same striking large metal buckle at its centre, with the instantly recognisable enamelled triangle logo as a key structural detail on the front strap closure.

Prada often celebrates distinctive features from its rich archive, and the Moon’s versatile design demonstrates the brand’s determination to recognise its past. It honours the Maison’s technical expertise and signature style, reminding why the original version was so admired.

The bag’s unmistakeable Nappa leather is reinterpreted with a special treatment to produce a slightly padded appearance, whilst the grommet—a mainstay of Prada pieces borrowed from the sailing world—is presented in a metal version with a silver finish. The Moon is available in four versions, light blue, cedar, geranium, and mango, and is enhanced by the handles, strap and removable keyring in matching colours. With its curved silhouette and bold, decisive form, the Prada Moon bag isn’t just an homage to a classic but also a contemporary icon.
