Dior Launches A Scintillating Jewelry Collection Inspired By Tie-Dye

Dior’s latest high jewelry collection ‘Tie & DIOR’ is just what you need to see to brighten up your day. Designed by Victoire de Castellane, the creative director of Dior Fine Jewelry, the collection brings together a myriad of precious gems, inspired by the artisanal textile dyeing technique, tie-dye.

The collection comprises of 100 pieces, including necklaces, bracelets, double rings and asymmetrical earrings, bedecked with gemstones, diamonds and pearls. It’s “a game of movements with vivid contrasting colors, punctuated by diamonds,” Victoire described the pieces in a release.

“The main images that came to my mind were ink stains spreading on a blotter and entering the paper. I thought it would be rather amusing to connect it to couture and fabrics,” she added.

The highlights of the collection are the rare Tahitian and Australian pearls called the ‘Venus Tears’. They have been dyed in rare hues like candy pink, pistachio green and sunny yellow and paired with diamonds. Interestingly, this is the first time that Victoire has used pearls in her 20-year journey at Dior.

The Tie & DIOR collection’s campaign was revealed in Shanghai during a private dinner, where the jewels were worn by 16 models in long, ethereal silk dresses made by Maria Grazia Chiuri exclusively for the event.
