Bottega Veneta has made a significant statement in the world of luxury with the launch of its inaugural fragrance collection, under the creative vision of Matthieu Blazy.
Indeed, the Bottega Veneta perfume collection is deeply rooted in the rich Venetian heritage that defines the brand, drawing inspiration from the enchanting city of Venice and its iconic Intrecciato leather weave.
The collection debuts with five distinct fragrances that honour Venice’s historical role as a crossroads of cultural exchange. By incorporating rare ingredients sourced from diverse countries and continents, each scent encapsulates a facet of the city’s vibrant essence. The five offerings — Colpo di Sole ‘Sunstroke,’ Come with Me, Acqua Sale, Déjà Minuit, and Alchemie — are crafted from 100 per cent natural essences, ensuring a purity that reflects the authenticity of the brand.
Each fragrance tells its own compelling story. For instance, Colpo di Sole merges the refreshing notes of French angelica oil with the exotic allure of Moroccan orange blossom absolute. Meanwhile, Come with Me captures the brightness of Italian bergamot harmonised with the richness of French orris butter. Acqua Sale combines the depth of Spanish labdanum absolute with the crispness of Macedonian juniper oil, while Déjà Minuit interlaces Madagascan geranium with the warmth of Guatemalan cardamom. Lastly, Alchemie blends Brazilian pink pepper with aromatic myrrh from Somalia, creating a symphony of scents that evoke the spirit of exploration and adventure.
The collection’s presentation is equally impressive. Each translucent glass bottle mirrors the enchanting quality of Venice’s lagoon, showcasing a unique design that reflects the artistry of Murano glassblowing, complete with individual air bubbles that elevate their aesthetic appeal. The bottles rest upon bases crafted from Verde Saint Denis marble, a nod to the elegant materials that have graced Blazy’s store designs. With caps inspired by the wooden stilts of Venetian palazzos, each piece becomes a functional work of art, ensuring that no two bottles are exactly alike.
Blazy envisioned these fragrances as a tribute to the ideal vacation day, capturing the essence of experiences that transition seamlessly from dawn’s salty dips to the warmth of evening cocktails. The artistry doesn’t stop with the scents; even the packaging is a masterpiece, featuring mouth-blown glass that mimics the beauty of water droplets while echoing the brand’s signature leather textures.
Additionally, each perfume comes with a stylish green Verde Saint Denis marble slab — essentially the chicest perfume coaster imaginable — elevating the overall experience of luxury. The fragrances not only smell divine but also add a touch of elegance to any vanity.
Bottega Veneta’s foray into fragrance is further enriched by its association with Palazzo Soranzo Van Axel, a stunning 15th-century Venetian palace partially leased by the brand for cultural events and to entertain its very important clients (VICs). This historic setting serves as a backdrop for the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship and cultural engagement, making the launch of this fragrance collection not just a product introduction, but a celebration of Venetian heritage.
