Audemars Piguet Unveils Limited-Edition Watch In Collaboration With Marvel Entertainment

Swiss luxury watch manufacturer Audemars Piguet released a Black Panther-inspired Royal Oak Concept as part of its collaboration with Marvel Entertainment.

Black Panther, also known as King T’Challa, was portrayed by late actor Chadwick Boseman in the 2018 Marvel movie and quickly became a crowd favorite.

The new piece was unveiled on April 10, in AP’s live show hosted by actor Kevin Hart and the brand’s CEO François-Henry Bennahmias.

Just like T’Challa’s futuristic home country Wakanda, the watch’s innovative technology and great craftsmanship pay tribute to one of Marvel’s most influential figures.

Around 250 limited-edition pieces will be produced in dedication to the superhero’s universe.

The designs are inspired by the superhero’s high-tech suit and feature an 18-carat white gold case and a hand painted 3D Black Panther on the dial.

Throughout the event, AP also auctioned off a unique Royal Oak Concept Black Panther watch, with the proceeds going towards two non-profit organisations, First Book and Ashoka.

This is part of the brand’s aim “to give students from low-income communities, aged 10-18, the resources to drive change in their communities,” according to AP’s website.
