I hope you had a lovely week filled with love and kindness. 

I’m writing to you from the LUX* North Malé Atoll Resort in the Maldives. I realized that whilst it’s critical to follow all protocols and maintain social distancing, our lives must go on. And an escape to the Maldives has offered perfect respite. It’s also my first family trip with baby Leonora. 

As I had visited the resort a year ago, I decided I must experience it again with Leonora. From the moment we arrived on this magical island, the staff made us feel at home.

Many people think that the Maldives is a go-to destination for honeymooners and couples, but that’s surely a misconception. In fact, a paradisiacal resort like LUX* makes it worthwhile for the entire family. 

The resort is akin to a fairytale – the island is lush green, the water stretches as far as the eye can see, and the staff is polite and helpful.

The food is a major highlight and offers a marriage of diverse flavors, with two restaurants where the chef is American and the sous-chef is Peruvian. Without a shadow of a doubt, the meals here are the most delicious I’ve ever had on a vacation.

They even have a baby menu with a range of fresh purées, available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Your kids will never get bored – you’ll find a great children’s club with a string of fun activities and games. 

They can paint, go to the cinema, and enjoy sweet treats at the ice cream shop.  They also have the chance to try out different  water sports, such as snorkeling and fishing. 

I brought my best friend and my two beautiful godsons with me. William, who is nine, and Sebastian, who is seven, are having the time of their lives. My five-month-old baby girl, Leonora, is enjoying splashing in the water on her pink flamingo float.

I decided to stay in one of their largest beach villas, which is fantastic for families and even a group of friends. The villa has three bedrooms, a spa, gym, access to your own private beach, a private swimming pool, a fully equipped kitchen and an epic rooftop, where you can lie down and admire the island’s starry nights. I highly recommend it for bigger groups.
