Contemporary Arab cinema is in the spotlight in the UAE, with the Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) bringing back CinemaNa, a gripping program of regional films that runs from tomorrow until 25 November. CinemaNA kicks off with What Comes Around on 14 October, a documentary by Lebanese filmmaker Reem Saleh. What else will be on view? MAFAK (Screwdriver) by Palestinian director Bassam Jarbawi, and the Academy Award-nominated documentary Of Fathers and Sons by Syrian Talal Derki. The screening of all films will be followed by a Q&A session with their respective directors.
