The UAE Is Among The Top Winners At The World Architecture Festival

World Architecture Festival returned for its 11th edition this December to celebrate some of the world’s finest design. Taking place in Amsterdam and with entries from around the world, the event lauded regional design marvels. The UAE took home two awards, including one for Abu Dhabi’s Qasr Al Hosn, which bagged the Completed Buildings – Religion prize.”Through the landscapes, they have enhanced this heritage site and in doing so, created architecture,” the judges said about Qasr Al Hosn.

Also a winner is Dubai’s urban fabric regeneration project X-Space, which bagged the WAFX Award in the Smart Cities category as the “most forward-looking architectural concept.” Among others who won big at the event were Kiev, Ukraine’s Comfort Town that won the Use of Color Award, Freebooter Amsterdam that was awarded the Amsterdam Prize and China’s Sup Atelier that took home the Best Engineering Award.
