Sheikha Al Mayassa Al Thani attends the inaugural British Museum “Pink Ball”

On Saturday night, the British Museum hosted its inaugural “Pink Ball”, a fundraising event dedicated to art, fashion, culture, and community. Co-hosted by philanthropist Isha Ambani, the evening celebrated the London museum’s Ancient India: Living Traditions exhibition with a guest list, from HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Princess Diana’s niece Lady Kitty Spencer, to Janet Jackson.

Speaking of the theme, museum director Nicholas Cullinan explained: “It has to be this pink that almost has a bit of purple. It can’t be too blush, or too garish. It can’t be Barbie pink. It’s got to be right.”

Sheikha Al Mayassa, Chairperson of Qatar Museums, perfectly embodied the gala’s theme in a dark pink gown, attending in support of architect Lina Ghotmeh, who designed the museum’s new wing.

Sheikha AlMayassa took to Instagram to share photos from the ball. She said, “Pleased to attend the British Museum Ball, bringing together leading voices in art and culture in celebration of creativity and heritage”
