Prince and Princess of Wales welcome Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani

Beginning their two-day state visit to the UK, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Hamad Bin Suhaim Al Thani, were received by the Prince and Princess of Wales on behalf of His Majesty King Charles at Kensington Palace.

The Princess of Wales paid a subtle tribute to the Emir of Qatar and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher, during their welcome at Kensington Palace. Renowned for her symbolic fashion choices, Kate opted for a burgundy coat dress and matching hat, complemented by pearl jewellery, reflecting the colours of the Qatari flag.

Princess Catherine wore the stunning Bahrain pearl drop earrings and her Japanese Pearl choker necklace. The set – which she wore at Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021 – was also loved by Princess Diana.

Sheikha Jawaher opted for a modest yet elegant ensemble, wearing a long natural-coloured coat with gold buttons over a red dress, paired with sleek grey stilettos. Highlighting her family’s impressive jewellery collection, the Emir’s wife completed the look with breathtaking teardrop diamond earrings and a matching ring.

Today, Prince William and the Princess of Wales welcomed Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani to Kensington Palace. The royal couple accompanied their guests to the Horse Guards Parade for a ceremonial welcome before introducing them to King Charles.

Following the formal introduction, the Emir and Sheikha Jawaher received a royal salute and enjoyed a rendition of the Qatari national anthem. They then joined the King, Queen, Prince William, and Princess Kate in a grand carriage procession along The Mall to Buckingham Palace. Upon arrival, they were greeted by a second guard of honour formed by the First Battalion Welsh Guards and the Band of the Irish Guards.
