Timeless over trend. This idea has been at the core of my brand CHI-KA since I launched it in 2016, as I’ve always taken a more instinctual approach to design. Purchasing less, but better quality pieces is something that never goes out of style.
As we continue to practice social distancing this Ramadan, I’ve noticed that customers are becoming more conscientious about their buying choices, in keeping with the spirit of the time. They’re still shopping for Ramadan and Eid, but they’re buying fewer pieces, the ones that they truly love.
CHI-KA Ramadan 2020 collection
Our clients have been opting for modest looks that are sophisticated and elegant without being too elaborate and exaggerated. In terms of cuts, many women prefer loose-fit and flowy silhouettes over sleek designs. I also feel that during this time every year, customers prefer to shop from regional designers, who are more attuned to their needs and preferences for Ramadan and Eid.
Choice of fabric is an integral factor for clients and many prefer natural fabrics over synthetic materials for kaftans. And, of course, fabric breathability and comfort are the cure-all for summer, as temperatures rise.
For Ramadan and Eid this year, we’ve created a limited collection of sophisticated, pure silk kaftans in a flowy silhouette. The kaftans feature Middle Eastern and Japanese sensibilities, reflecting the aesthetic vocabulary of the brand.

Among our most loved pieces are those with hand-crafted details, and are dyed or painted by artists in Japan. Known for its mellifluous blend of fashion and art, CHI-KA has made a mark in the local fashion scene, with our shop and gallery in Alserkal Avenue expected to reopen in the next couple of weeks.
For your ease, we provide a mobile boutique service that brings our collections to your homes. You can also shop the looks on our website and Ounass.ae, and at multi-brand store Mira Y Mano in Riyadh. Select pieces are available at the Farfetch Concierge Service. Enjoy our latest collection and stay chi-ka.
