DCT Abu Dhabi Unveils Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial 2026 Theme: “Home”

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has announced the dates and theme for the second edition of the Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial (PAAD), which will transform public spaces across Al Ain and Abu Dhabi into vibrant cultural destinations.

The Biennial will open in Al Ain on 23 October 2026 and in Abu Dhabi on 15 November 2026. Curated by artistic director Elvira Dyangani Ose, the edition is centred on the theme “Home: A Glossary for a Communal Sense of Place,” exploring the idea of home as a shared and evolving experience.

Building on the success of the inaugural Public Matter (2024–25) edition, the Biennial will feature public art commissions, research-led projects, and community engagement initiatives that encourage audiences to experience art in everyday spaces.

The initiative reflects DCT Abu Dhabi’s commitment to enriching the emirate’s public realm through art while strengthening connections between artists, communities, and place.
