Chanel has unveiled the exquisite Mademoiselle J12 La Pausa, a timepiece duo exclusively created for the prestigious Only Watch auction event, raising funds for research against Duchenne muscular dystrophy and taking place every two years.
This year, for the 10th edition of Only Watch charity auction, Chanel is offering a duo of Mademoiselle J12 LA PAUSA watches specially designed for the occasion. This unique black and white offering pays homage to the brand’s namesake Coco Chanel, drawing inspiration from an iconic photograph captured at her beloved sanctuary, La Pausa, in France.
True to its name, the Mademoiselle J12 La Pausa showcases a stunning figurine inspired by a timeless snapshot of Mademoiselle Chanel herself, captured amidst her garden at La Pausa—a cherished vacation retreat in the south of France. Imprinted on a mesmerising sapphire crystal plate, the image immortalises Chanel adorned in her iconic Breton jersey and button-front pants, radiating the essence of her style.
Beneath its enchanting exterior, these timepieces boast exceptional technical specifications. Powered by the self-winding Caliber 12.1 movement, meticulously developed and produced by the revered manufacturer Kenissi—a joint endeavour with Chanel—each watch boasts a highly resistant ceramic case and a transparent sapphire crystal case back, elegantly engraved with the words Pièce unique. Only Watch 2023. Mademoiselle J12, symbolising their rarity.
The fixed bezel, crafted in blackened steel, features an exquisite baguette motif, while the crown, available in steel or blackened steel, dazzles with a brilliant-cut diamond. Water-resistant up to 50 meters or 164 feet, both timepieces showcase highly resistant ceramic bracelets secured with triple-folding steel buckles, exuding comfort and sophistication. With a size of 38 mm, these watches strike the perfect balance between elegance and versatility.
Leading up to the auction, the timepieces embark on an exhilarating journey, gracing cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Monaco, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, and Dubai. Finally, they arrive in Geneva on November 5, where they will be presented for auction, igniting a fervour among collectors and philanthropists alike.
Chanel’s Mademoiselle J12 La Pausa stands not only as a testament to the brand’s artistic prowess but also as a powerful symbol of compassion and solidarity. As fashion and philanthropy intertwine, this remarkable timepiece duo illuminates the path toward combatting Duchenne muscular dystrophy, inspiring hope for change.
