A Brand New Fashion Week Is Making Its Debut In Dubai This Year

Dubai has experienced quick growth as the fashion capital of the Middle East, having hosted Fashion Forward Dubai, Arab Fashion Week and Modest Fashion Week, among others. And this year, another fashion week will be making its way to Dubai. Launched by the African Fashion Fund and three Dubai-based entrepreneurs, Aser Levron, Dina Yassin and Badrriya Henry, Africa Fashion Week Middle East (AFWME) will debut this year. The founders hold that Africa has the potential to become a global fashion power and were motivated to build a platform for African and Middle Eastern designers to come forward and showcase their talent.

Technology, innovation and sustainability are the three main pillars that the new venture stands on.

The official account of Africa Fashion Week Middle East posted a picture of the founding ladies on Instagram with a caption throwing light on the focus of the organization. “We envision building a platform that is solely focused on providing sustainable growth and optimal exposure for African talents and providing them with access to resources that will help them flourish in the Middle East Markets and beyond.” The event is set to take place is October and we can hardly wait.
