This initiative highlights the beauty of handcrafted designs, offering a platform for skilled artisans to showcase their talents to a global audience.
Each item connects customers to the soul of Egypt through authentic, handcrafted pieces personally selected by the Princess herself.
As an honorary ambassador for the Egyptian Fashion and Design Council (EFDC), Princess Fawzia is dedicated to championing the exceptional craftsmanship and cultural richness of Egypt. “With Nilazur, we invite you to not only experience the magic of Egypt through these exquisite, one-of-a-kind pieces but also to immerse yourself in the stories of the talented artisans behind them,” she shared, highlighting her commitment to preserving and celebrating Egypt’s artistic legacy on a global platform.
The inaugural collection includes bags, stoles, jewellery, papyrus, sculptures, and home accessories. “I wish to share Egypt’s timeless artistry, woven into every piece, with the world,” remarked Princess Fawzia. “Each creation reflects our rich history and the artisans’ passion,” she added. The brand seamlessly blends Egypt’s unique craftsmanship with the chic elegance of the Côte d’Azur, creating a stunning fusion of tradition and style.
Every product in Nilazur’s collection is ethically sourced, using natural raw materials such as alabaster, renowned for its luminous beauty; steatite, which artisans have used for millennia to create enduring masterpieces; world-famous Egyptian cotton; and exquisite essences of wood. A jewellery collection entitled Terre d’Égypte, designed by Princess Fawzia, will be unveiled at the end of 2024.
Nilazur is committed to fair wages and skill development, uplifting women artisans across Egypt, including in Cairo, Luxor, Sharqia, Sohag, and Sinai. “Women have a vital role in preserving cultural heritage,” said Princess Fawzia. “Nilazur not only celebrates their talents but also empowers them to achieve financial independence,” she added.
