Did You Know That Having Fresh Flowers In Your Home Can Reduce Pain And Stress?

Flowers have long been the gift of choice for families and friends, but it might be time to fill your own life with them as a means of pain and stress relief. You read that right. According to recent research conducted by the American Society for Horticulture Science, fresh flowers have the ability to ease physical pain and feelings of anxiety.

The study was conducted on 90 participants divided across two rooms, one of which was filled with plants. The findings showed that those who were exposed to plants and flowers experienced a host of health benefits, including lower blood pressure, reduced heart rate and feelings of fatigue, anxiety and pain. This meant that their overall satisfaction and positive emotions were at their optimum as opposed to those in the plant-free room.

Floral bouquets can also lead to reduced stress levels, according to a study published in the medical journal Complementary Therapies In Medicine. The research involved giving college-going women a fresh vase of roses for their dorm rooms, and the results included the participants feeling more at ease and stress-free. So, it might be time to embrace the flower power and bring the blooms in.
